During the cruel global economic recession, though you may have lost your job or have gotten a pay cut, the living expense is continuously soaring.

Simple ways to save money

On this moment, you might wonder if there are some easy solutions to help relieve your financial stress. You may consult the following saving tips as to get some ideas:

Tip 1 - Manage your credit card well.

Each month, if possible, you should pay off the entire due amount shown on your credit card statement and avoid paying unnecessary interests to the bank.

Tip 2 - Keep only one or two credit cards with you and cancel the unnecessary ones.

In this way, you can reduce the risk of forgetting to pay credit card on time or accumulating credit card debt.

Tip 3 - Put 10% of each pay aside.

Each time when you get your pay, you should deposit 10% percentage of it into your saving account for future use or emergency.

Tip 4 - Avoid unnecessary management fees.

If your bank allows exempting management fees, provided you always keep a minimum amount in your check account, be careful not to go below that minimum limit.

When you issue a check, remember to keep enough money in your check account for paying it off. Otherwise, you will be charged penalty fee.

Tip 5 - Reduce gasoline consumption.

Try to use the public transportation tools for going to work or shopping. In this way, you can save a lot on your gasoline cost or car maintenance and repairs.

Find out if you really need a car or a second car. If you don’t keep a car or keep fewer cars, you can save a lot from the purchase of gasoline, oil, maintenance, repairs, parking, insurance, permits and fines.

Tip 6 - Ride your bicycle instead of driving your car.

If the weather allows, use your bike as often as possible, not just for doing exercises on weekends. You can also consider going to work by riding bicycle.

Tip 7 - Go shopping on foot, as often as possible, which can become your daily exercise.

It's a way to benefit your health and contribute to environment protection.

Tip 8 - Maintain your car to prevent early deterioration.

Regularly apply a layer of wax to preserve the sheen of the paint and prevent rust. Please apply rust proofing to your car every autumn before the snow arrives in town.

Tip 9 - Make your reservation as early as possible.

If you need to rent a car, reserve the car as early as possible. In this way, the renting fee can be much lower than the last-minute reservation.

Tip 10 - Organize some clothes sharing party with your friends and relatives.

You can share our clothes and the ones of your children with relatives and friends; meanwhile you don’t have to worry about the source of these second-hand clothes.

Tip 11 - Reduce purchases of new books and magazines.

You can borrow them from the library or from friends. If you want to keep a copy, you can try to buy the used ones on the Internet. You may visit the Ebay.com or amazon.com for used-book sellers.

Tip 12 - Share your newspapers and magazines with neighbors or friends.

In addition to save money, you can maintain relationships with your neighbor and friends.

Tip 13 - Make a shopping list.

Before you go shopping, make a shopping list and stick to it rather than be guided by your impulsiveness. Do not shop when you and / or your children are hungry.

Besides, you should keep the coupons cut from weekly flyers and use them during your shopping.
