Blogging web software is provided by blog hosts such as WordPress and Blogger. As such, they provide a variety of design tools for beginners, and more advanced options, making them ideal for establishing blogs. Here is some of the best blogging software for beginners.

WordPress

To begin with WordPress, which just about has every design tool. WordPress has design tools for templates, open source templates, HTML (WYSIWYG) editor, plug-ins & widgets, audio, and video. In addition to this, there is no shortage of publishing and tracking tools either as WordPress has plenty of blog stats, supports RSS, includes archives, links to other blogs, trackbacks, and pingbacks. WordPress also has plenty of tutorial support. As such, WordPress is one of the best blogging platforms.

Blogger

Blogger is also great blogging software. With Blogger you can get a blog up and running quickly enough. Blogger has a variety of blog templates which can be further customized via its template design options, and there are a number of websites that also provide additional blog templates such as eblog templates. Customizing the blog is easy with its design options for page elements, whereby different page elements can be added, selected, arranged, and edited. Then it addition to this the template designer provides tools for template design. Blogger also has plenty of tech support with tutorials, FAQ, forums, and its own web blog. While it does not quite have the range of publishing tools of WordPress, Blogger still has plenty of options in this respect. So overall, Blogger is recommended software for web blogs.

TypePad

TypePad has perhaps the most comprehensive range of options for design, publishing, hosting, and other features. Unlike Blogger a small fee is required, but the software is a good alternative with a wealth of design tools including hundreds of design templates and layouts, unlimited number of widgets, and options for custom banners. TypePad has a full range of tech support with tutorials, FAQ, forums, and an e-mail form whereby technical queries can be made via e-mail. In addition to this, TypePad includes a free demo trial.

Windows Live Writer

One of the best off-line blogging software packages is that of Windows Live Writer that comes included with Windows 7, as part of the Windows Live suite. With this software you can update you blog posts to a variety of blog platforms including the three mentioned above. For this, Live Writer provides a variety of formatting options for blog posts with options for text formatting, adding images, photo albums, tables, maps, video, and plug-ins. As such, it can be a great addition to the other blogging software covered above.

This is some of the best blogging software for blogs. For those less familiar with blogs this software provides plenty of tutorial support and straightforward WYSIWYG design tools to get started with.
