Do you like wearing bangs? Did you know there are different styles to wear depending on your face's shape and your hair type? If not, you will soon find out!

The Big Bangs Theory - You may Have It Wrong

If you are looking for a new hairstyle, you are going to find a lot of choices. But depending on the shape of your face, not all of them are going to be right for you. Take bangs, for instance. Did you know that there are some types of bangs that are better suited for some face shapes and hair types than others? Below we are going to explore these different types of bangs and give you advice on the ones that are best for you.

Bang Based on Hair Type

Not all bangs will look right with all types of hair. So here are some bang tips based on your type of hair.

• Coarse Hair – if you have really thin or really thick, coarse hair, you should avoid heavy, long bangs that are blunt-cut.
• Straight hair – If your hair is straight and is medium-dense, you will do best with fringe bangs. This combination of hair won’t require as much work and will usually fall right into place. Mini or arched bangs are also great.
• Curly or wavy hair – Enhance them using wispy and soft bangs.

Bangs Based on Face Shape

Now that we have covered the different types of hair, we’ll look at the different face shapes.

• Oval – If you have an oval face, you’ll be able to wear any type of bangs. You can try wispy soft bangs or bangs that are side-swept to flatter your face. Don’t let your bangs take over so that they overwhelm your face, covering your features.

• Round – If your face is round, you will do well with side-swept or wispy bangs, since they will add balance without making your face look wider.

• Oblong or Long – If your face is long or you have a high forehead, heavy, long, or blunt bangs will look great on your face and help with cutting down on your face’s length.

• Square – If you have a square face, you will do better with arched bangs. They will help with softening your face’s strong lines.

Final Notes

These are just suggestions to help you with looking the best that you can. They will flatter your face and give you a look that is amazing. But remember - if you like the way you look, choose the look that's right for you.

Thank you for sharing this article. When I was younger I had bangs but now my hair is long and I don't wear bangs. I like the tips that you shared. I never really thought too much about this before.

Bangs are not for me. I had bangs cut early in my life and they looked horrible! My forehead must be too small, my head too flat, or my hair too thin to carry the style. Hair has to be off my face 100 percent.

So, please, write your next article on off-the-face hairstyles!
