We take an in-depth look at the third sign of the zodiac, Gemini.

The Gemini journey

Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac. In the first sign, Aries, life springs forth from the fiery breath of creation. In the beginning was the word. Life becomes substantited and concrete in Taurus. Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. In Gemini, life seeks to know itself. Eve eats the apple of the tree of knowledge. Here is where curiosity is born and the urge to know becomes paramount.

Geminis are eternally youthful, witty, never at a loss for words, thinkers of the first order, and supremely adaptable. True to their dual nature (the twins), they can scatter their energies here, there and everywhere in a mad dash to experience at least a little of everything there is.

Gemini power

The power of Gemini rests in its superior ability to think and communicate to others what it thinks. As the first of the signs of the air element, it lives primarily in its head, and it is a veritable data bank or encyclopedia of information. Gemini is restless, and it has much difficulty sitting still or in one place for very long.

Honorary Geminis

If you were born between shortly after midnight until around two a.m. in the winter and three a.m. in the summer, then you are an honorary Gemini regardless of your Sun sign, because you are fated to engage in Gemini type experiences. You will have the same curiosity and urge to know, and you will be a first class thinker. Communication in whatever form - writing or speaking - engages you constantly as you seek to connect to others intellectually.

Gemini Sun through the houses

A First House Gemini Sun or a Gemini ascendant marks you as supremely intellectual, with great thinking and communicating skills. You project your personality in a youthful, engaging manner, and you take neither yourself or others seriously.

Gemini Sun in the second house: you are likely to be able to earn income in a variety of ways, but they all have to engage your thinking capacities. You could write or teach to earn money.

A Gemini Sun in the third house resides in its own domain, since the third house is analogous to the third sign, which means you are sort of a super Gemini. The need to amass a compendium of knowledge is paramount. Your mind never rests if the Sun is here.

A fourth house Gemini Sun needs to make his or her home a place where he or she can be safe to think and write and do research. You may come from an intellectually gifted family.

In the fifth house, a Gemini Sun needs to play intellectually challenging games. Your creative writing skills may be very advanced if your Sun lives here. You are likely to have very smart children as well.

A sixth house Sun in Gemini is the mark of a jack of all trades. Work needs to challenge your ability to think, lest it become boring. Your respiratory system may be susceptible, so you should never smoke tobacco.

With your Gemini Sun in the seventh house of your birth chart, you will need a life partner who is as intelligent as you are. Communication is the most important aspect of relationship. If communication lines are not wide open between you, there is no hope for the relationship.

Eighth house Gemini Sun: you make love with your eyes wide open, and you like to talk when you are sexually engaged. You need a variety of experience in your sex life. You'll try anything once.

A ninth house Gemini Sun is inherently philosophical in a very intellectual sort of way. You love to travel far and wide, and you engage people in foreign countries with great urgency, seeking to soak up all you can about their cultures.

Tenth house Gemini Sun: your career needs always to challenge your intellectual capacities. You may be able to juggle two distinctly different professions at the same time.

An eleventh house Gemini Sun gravitates to friendship with people who are very intelligent and like to engage in spirited mental exchanges. You are likely to be rather democratic and egalitarian, treating everybody with openness and curiosity.

Gemini Sun in the twelfth house: you are compassionate, and very spiritual in an intellectual sort of way. You always root for the underdog.

I appreciate this reading, Steve. I do believe Astrology must have some significance in our lives but am worried in that there is some confliction there with spiritual beliefs.

It depends on the year and what time of day it was. If you were born in a leap year you're a Cancer; otherwise you could be a Gemini, but its not ikely. I can tell you for sure you'rre a Cancer, because your poetry is very Cancerian.
