Let's take a look at what the stars have in store for each of the signs of the zodiac during 2014.

The zodiac

We are all born to meet a need the universe has for us, and we all embody the qualities of the universe into which we are born, which are contained within that moment in time and space which sees our first independent act of existence on the earth plane - the drawing of our first breath. Against the backdrop of the constellations we all play out the astrological dictum: "as above, so below." Thus the microcosm (the individual) both embodies and reflects the macrocosm (the universe).

If you were born between March 27th and April 4th, Pluto will square your Sun during this entire year, which marks a year-long process of deep and profound personal transformation. You will no longer be the same person you are now at the end of this coming year. You will strip away and discard excess baggage and go through a death-rebirth process that is likely to take your life in a brand new direction.

Uranus conjuncts your Sun during most of 2014 if you were born between March 28th and April 6th. As a result this is a year to expect the unexpected. The disruptions you are likely to feel are for the purpose of breaking up any patterns or circumstances that have become too rigid or crystallized. Look at it as a process that in the end liberates you.

For all Aries natives: from the beginning of 2014 through the middle of July Jupiter's transit through Cancer, squaring your Sun, bodes well for initiating new enterprises. There are opportunities that arise for putting in place the foundations of personal or material growth.

From May 3rd through May 28th, the transit of Venus through your Sun sign signals a period of greatly heightened personal magnetism. Your charm disarms now.

If you were born in the last half of the sign, from May 5th through May 19th, you will need to contend with Saturn's transit in opposition to your Sun during almost all of 2014. You may need to shoulder a heavier load than usual this coming year. Progress comes only with much effort and a strong dose of patience. All things must pass and so too shall this.

For all Taurus natives: at some time during the last five months of the year you may re-connect very positively with someone from out of your past.

From May 29th through June 23rd Venus transits your Sun sign, and your personal magnetism and charm reach a yearly peak. Others find you exceedingly attractive now.

If you were born from May 24th through May 28th, you will see Neptune sitting on a conjunction to your Sun during all of 2014. You may be feeling somewhat uneasy, confused, or even lost at sea. The cosmos is calling on you to pay attention to transcendent and spiritual matters. Pay close attention to your dreams this year, for they will be imparting instructions for living.

Take care of your health if you were born during the last half of Gemini, between May 5th and May 19th. Saturn's transit through your solar sixth house of health requires a disciplined approach to diet and perhaps physical exercise as well. Avoid junk food. Eat right.

From June 24th through July 18th, Venus' transit through Gemini assures personal popularity. Others give you the benefit of the doubt now.

From the beginning of 2014 through mid-July, Jupiter transits your solar house of money. Opportunity for income gains arise at some point during this time, but to take advantage you must walk through the doors when they open.

Jupiter takes twelve years to circle the entire zodiac, spending almost exactly one year in each of the twelve signs. From the beginning of 2014 through mid-July its presence in Cancer marks a period of great opportunity for personal growth and expansion. The doors of opportunity open wide for you this year.

If you were born on June 3rd, 4th or 5th. Pluto sits on a square to your Sun all year long, and this once-in-a-lifetime transit coincides with a period of deep personal transformation. You will not be the same person a year from now that you are today. Know that you can eliminate much personal baggage this year and lighten your load considerably.

For all Cancer natives: Jupiter in your solar second house during the last half of the year brings opportunities for income gains, but it may also have you loosening your purse strings to the point of extravagance.

Between July 19th and August 11th, as Venus transits Cancer, your personal magnetism reaches a yearly peak. Turning on your charm pays handsome dividends now.

Jupiter's transit through Leo from mid-July through the end of the year opens the doors of opportunity for you and makes much personal and/or material growth possible. You must notice when they open and walk through them if you are to take full advantage.

Family obligations may press upon you this year with Saturn, which rules all matters domestic, transiting your solar fourth house.

August 12th through September 5th sees Venus transiting Leo. You can turn on your charm and draw almost whatever you want to yourself now. Many will find you simply irresistible.

If you were born from August 3rd though August 7th you will see Neptune transiting in close opposition to your Sun during all of 2014. Neptune is other-worldly and has nothing to do with the material realm. Instead, it rules the transcendent and spiritual realms. Unless you are making room for these aspects to enter your reality the year could be fraught with confusion and a lack of direction. You need to pay close attention to your dreams this year, for they reveal clues and directions for spiritual growth and progress.

For all Virgos: Jupiter transiting your solar tenth house of career from the beginning of 2014 through mid-July may produce advancement professionally, or perhaps entrepreneurial opportunities. After that, Jupiter enters your solar eleventh house, and your social life becomes very activated. Friends are greatly supportive.

Venus transiting through Virgo from September 6th through the 29th heightens your personal magnetism, and others beat a path to your door.

Ordinarily, Mars spends about 45 days in any given sign, but when it turns retrograde every 23 months, it is likely to pend as much as six months in a given sign. It is now doing that as it transits through Libra, between the beginning of 2014 and the middle of the month of July. You operate on heightened adrenalin during this time, and you will be very busy and active as you throw one iron into the fire after another. Your patience could be tested on more than one occasion, however. Just take care to take a breather once in a while lest you burn yourself out with exhaustion.

Jupiter transiting your solar house of career from the beginning of 2014 through mid-July may signify advancement or promotion within your career. Whatever the actual scenario, look for some singular professional successes during this time.

If you were born from September 26th through the 30th, Pluto's once-in-a-lifetime transit in square to your Sun marks a year of intense personal transformation. The "death, rebirth, regeneration and transformation process" archetypally represented by Pluto plays out in full force this year. You can eliminate excess psychological garbage and emerge from this year almost literally transformed and reborn.

If you were born between October 1st and October 9th, Uranus opposes your Sun during almost the entire year. You may need to break free of relationships that seek to reign you in in any way. Your urge is to let loose, break free, and play by your own rules.

Venus' transit through Libra from September 29th through October 23rd sees you turning on the charm in order to further your personal agenda. Personal relationships are likely to be very rewarding now.

If you were born between November 6th and the 22nd, Saturn's transit over your Sun this year requires shouldering greater responsibility. No matter what your chronological age, Saturn is now beckoning you to acquire greater maturity. You may have to push a little harder than usual and cultivate a little more patience than usual, but in the end the results you get will be well worth the trouble.

Foreign or other long-distance travel during the first half of 2014 is likely to be very rewarding. If you've been putting off that trip to Europe or South America now is the time to book it, and do it.

Venus transits Scorpio from October 24th through November 16th, marking a time of heightened personal magnetism. You turn on the charm.

If your birthday falls from November 26th through the 30th, Neptune's transit over your Sun this year may have you feeling like you are trying to steer a boat with no rudder. Your attention is now drawn less to material concerns and more to what lies beyond what we can see, feel, taste or touch. Spiritual and transcendent realities beckon. Your dreams may be very vivid now. Pay attention to them, because they are imparting instructions for living.

Between the New Year and mid-July Jupiter will be transiting your solar eighth house, giving you the opportunity to avail yourself of the resources of others who are in the mood to share their good fortune with you. During the last half of the year Jupiter will transit your solar ninth house, and your well-known Sagittarian wanderlust is in full flower. Travel and great adventure beckon.

From November 18th through December 10th, Venus transits your Sun sign. Your personal magnetism draws others to you as your social life kicks into high gear.

Does your birthday fall on January 4th through the 8th? If so, Pluto is sitting on a conjunction to your Sun during all of 2014, which coincides with a period of monumental life transformation. Your life is likely to go through radical changes this coming year, and you will need to excise or eliminate aspects of your life or conditions which no longer serve a useful purpose.

If you were born between December 30th through January 6th, Uranus transiting in square to your Sun marks 2014 as a year of breaking free. You may experience great disruption of your normal routines, which is the universe's way of paving the way for a breakthrough to freedom and liberation.

For all Capricorns: Jupiter opposing your Sun sign from Cancer between now and mid-July serves to expand your social life and sees you making important new contacts. New life can be breathed into relationships that have become a bit stale.

Venus' transit through Capricorn from December 11th through January 4th is your time to shine. Others will find your charm and personal magnetism to be well nigh irresistible now.

During the first half of the year any efforts toward improving your state of physical health will pay off handsomely, with Jupiter transiting through your solar sixth house of health. In the last half of 2014, Jupiter transits your solar seventh house, activating your social life. You can also forge significant new business contacts during this period.

Saturn's transit through your solar tenth house during almost all of 2014 is likely to mark 2014 as a year of significant professional progress. A promotion may be in the offing. Whatever the case, the world out there is ready to recognize you for all of the effort you have put into your personal success, and you are likely to see yourself rewarded in kind.

From April 6th through May 2nd, when Venus transits through Aquarius, your personal magnetism peaks, and others become more than eager to follow your lead.

Neptune entered Pisces last year and will continue in the sign through the year 2026. While it calls on humanity to turn away from gross material pursuits. it is especially incumbent upon those born from January 21st through the 26th to begin to tune into transcendent and spiritual dimensions. Your dreams become extremely vivid and instructive during 2014. Pay attention to how they guide you.

For all Pisceans: between the first of the year and mid-July Jupiter transits your solar fifth house, making this a time to express yourself creatively. Sing, dance and play. This can be a very fun time in your life.

Venus transiting Pisces from April 6th through May 2nd coincides with a peak of personal attractiveness and magnetism. Oh, how your charm disarms now.

Good morning, Steve; what lovely images. As a Virgo, I appreciate that you found one that was attractive rather than dowdy as typically shown :) Should we let you know how we fair in the year? Thanks for a heads up on major points to be aware of for all the signs. ~Marilyn

Lots of info here Steve.

You really seem to know your stuff.

"We are all born to meet a need the universe has for us."

I never thought of it like this before.

I always thought that the Universe has no needs being complete in itself. A soul comes into the universe rearranging a part of it to clothe itself with, but then it helps to be the Universe in the Universe.

The universe is not separate from us, but we are separate from the universe, at least as soul.

You seem to be saying that the Universe has its own needs.

Is it alive in such a way that it also has a certain purpose, or is it inert and only following its creator's purpose for it?
