Too many writers don't take a pride in their work, remember quality not quantity is the rule.

Sections and pictures

There are two kinds of writers, those that care what their work looks like, and those that just want to get something published no matter what it looks like. I won’t count the Plagiarist’s they are not writers

This article is for the former, when you write an article and before you click the “Publish” button go over your work, titivate it, see how you can improve it , make sure you have broken it up into “Sections” lets face it, you want others to read your work don’t you? OK then make it easy to read.
Lets look at sections and pictures.

  • Sections allow your work to be broken into readable segments
  • They give you a larger font to headline each part
  • They allow you to add another picture either in the top or to the side
  • You don’t have to add pictures but they do improve the “Look” of your work
  • Remember if you do add pictures; make sure they are not copyrighted
  • See Mark Gordon Browns brilliant article for more on adding pictures

For more on sections see this help on sections from our very own chief nut

Adding a youtube video to your article

The link to this youtube video is

  • but you only need to copy this part
  • fUq9hynzCVo

Don't just post the above short code it needs to be in brackets
See Sam Wormleighton, article on Advance formattingand you are well on the way to making your page looking professional

Star Page

Now your well on the way to getting more readable page, who knows maybe even a star page.

As you can see from this article I have highlighted parts of my work as bold, and some have been italicized this all helps in making your work look good.

You can also make use of the "list" command, again see Advance formatting]Sam's terrific article for more on this

Not a guarantee

Now I cant guarantee your beautifully written article will make star ratings there's a whole lot more to be taken into consideration.

  • How well was the article researched?
  • How is the spelling and gamma?
  • Was the page title and summary enough to make you read on?

If you follow these tips at least you can look with pride at your article and say to yourself "yup that looks good"

Lots of help

So you see there's loads and load's of help available for you,the help link will send you to all the help you will ever need, you can find the help link on the left column just above the "Authors you follow, or of course you could always click on the link.

Cheating

Last but not least, as a moderator I am sickened by writers who just copy great lumps of already published work and then put their name on it as their own .

I wont tolerate it, its cheating and any people submitting such articles to me will be rejected, I will always try and help you to make a great article, so come on wikinutters lets make Wikinut the place for good reading.

Jonny you must have read my mind. I haven't written anything since July and I forgot how to add a Youtube video to an article. I must of had a senior moment:) I'll put this on my favorites so I won't loose it:)
Thanks for the reminder:)

Mr. Johnnydod, how do I find the video code? I think what throws me off, is that I don't see the finnished product, when I proof it. Is it that I put the code in brackets, and you as a moderator, add in the finnished product?

One more unrelated question, I hate when the script runs off the page in the comment section. I am never quite sure if the commentie, has gotten the whole thing. Is it something I am doing on my PC?

A great post with very helpful advice. You are right about the different types of writers. No, cheating should not be tolerated. I wonder why writers do it.
