Pinterest is the newest place that people are hanging out online. If you are trying to sell items online or writing an amazing blog, you want to be right in the middle of this high-traffic site. Tips on Using Pinterest To Increase Traffic to Your Website or Blog

You may be one of the few who have not checked out Pinterest yet. You are hearing this strange word every where you go and curiosity is peaked but you are probably assuming it is just another time waster and you have more important things to do, like networking to gain more blog readers or shoppers to your website.

Surprise! Pinterest may be exactly what your website needs.
This oddly named new kid on the block is the perfect place to position excerpts from your blog posts or highlight the cute new bracelets you have crafted for your online jewelry shop. Pinterest is a combination of the words Pin and Interest. It is a virtual bulletin board for items and sites you have seen online and want to remember and show others.

The wide range of bulletin board categories include:

And much much more

The Pinterest member numbers are growing like crazy every single day and these readers could be finding you when they spend some time browsing their Pinterest sites. This is all you have to do:

Go to Pinterest and request membership. It could take 24 hours for acceptance.
Once you have your own Pinterest Bulletin Boards, label one of them for your Blog or Website with a short description and the link.
Go to your blog or website, choose a certain post or item that you are selling and "Pin it" to your Pinterest Bulletin Board. You will learn how to Pin a page as you are setting up your Pinterest Account.
Your chosen blog post will then show up on the Pinterest Bulletin Board for all to see.
The best part is that once something is Pinned it automatically includes the link right back to your site!

As an extra back-up you may want to include the link in the description while you Pin it.
In order to really get the most views, it would be smart to Pin several different blog posts or website items on your boards.

The written explanation sounds more difficult than it is. Take your time looking around the Pinterest site and it will make sense and you will wonder why you waited so long to give it a try!
