When you are cutting trees you must be extremely careful so that there are no injuries or deaths occurring during the process.

You must follow safety precautions when cutting down trees. Most States regulate the number of people permitted to cut down trees as a way of minimizing injury and death. There are several regulations that must be followed in most States on how to cut down trees after getting a permit to do so from the County.

There are times when getting a permit for cutting down trees is not necessary especially when it comes to dead trees. Avoid cutting down trees that are leaning on one side,such trees can split and cause an injury or damage to property. A good example of such trees is the Willow tree. Don't cut down trees that are on a slope or near power lines leave this to a professional so that you don't cause any damage and injury.

Before you use a chainsaw to cut down the tree read the manual so that you understand how to operate it. You must always wear protective gear when cutting down trees.

You will need a hard hat, goggles, heavy duty gloves and gum boots, you will also need ear protection because the loud sound of chain saw can cause deafness according to the Tree Care Industry Association.

Look out for any hazards in the area before cutting down the tree. Make sure that there are no pets of children playing in the area. The branches on the tree that you can reach should be cut off at first using a small chain saw before you proceed with cutting down the tree.

The area must also have some escape routes that you can use in cases whereby the tree unexpectedly falls towards you. Make sure that the escape routes are free of any objects that will cause you trip and fall before you run.

When using the Chain saw to cut down a tree keep the kick back guard on the blade to avoid the blade from flying off and in the event cause injury to you or any one nearby.

You should use the back cut at 45 degrees angle which is carved from the side of the tree and then have the tree pulled in the direction that the cut was made using a rope.

You can also use the bore cut approach when cutting down a tree, using your chain saw plunge it in the tree and move it to the left or right side while creating a wedge in the tree.
