Understanding personality, ego, and love

In this article, we touch on different areas of our soul.

The writer is saying here that our personality, our ego, our mind, everything else really about us, all are a part of the greater person who we really all are, our soul.

These are the writer's views, and any conflict with other people's views are only that, just conflicts. Conflicts are never real. Only stick with what's true. What's true for you, you will know.

Love is not a thing. It is living energy. It is God

Apparently Dr. Sigmund Freud thought that the adult personality is shaped, formed, and created during the first five years of our lives. This personality is said to be the one that we will live from for the rest of our lives. It is our core self, our underlying personality, which he thought could not thereafter be greatly changed.

He thought that the personality was formed from how the environmental influences interacted with the person's instinctual or hereditary forces. Personality is the way that we arrange our character, behaviour, and thoughts. It's a "conglomerately" created entity.

I believe with a little bit of effort we can change this basic underlying root personality. It is not fixed in its place, I think. We can take on any type of personality that we would ever like to.

Before taking this any further let's now talk about love and its relationship to our ego.

Can love and ego both operate independently and together helping each other and being real and doing their own thing? What is ego, and what is love?

Ego is no more than a vehicle for love for love to serve your own self. When you don't love yourself you are not using the ego as it's meant to be used.

The ego is a part of your soul, and it is not attached at all to the body or mind.

It is a part of your personality, which also is a part of your soul.

Love is not a thing, but is more a conglomerate of adjoining facets of itself. Love just is love. The ego exists inside of love as does all things. The ego has the freedom to block love, but it never then knows that it was love that created it in the first place.

Personality is the unique slant of the creation of your unique soul.

"The mind is like an iceberg, it floats with one-seventh of its bulk above water."

The above is a quote from Sigmund Freud, (1856 to 1939). Freud is known by most people. He has been called the father of psychoanalysis.

With apologies to the great man though, I will change his quote to this one of mine, for the purposes of this article.

"The mind is like an iceberg, if it operates with most of its power negating love."

Your soul, your role, and your personality

Each soul is different and each personality is uniquely different.

Sure, they can be loosely categorised into similar types, but when it boils down to the true description of a person, no personality can be finally fully described, as each is still being defined and created by you, soul.

The personality is the way you as soul create.

Each soul creates in a different way. Some souls create favouring physicality for now, others favour emotional creations, and still others mental creative constructs, but the greater the soul develops, all of his creativity is influenced by a greater level of love.

God's personality then is only of love, and as we approach God, we redefine our own personality and start chipping off and refining the rougher bits that have served us up to now, but now will be replaced by the loving personality, which is from God.

But our unique personality, which we have right from our creation still remains, and so we will usually speak and act in a certain preferential way, but which is still really influenced, and acting with total love.

Our personality although individually always unique, shines forth from us then, with the greater infinite personality of God's showing through it. We are being God, through our being ourselves, within God.

Most of us still hide our real self behind the mask of our false personality, which our ego is wearing. So, begin to take your personality back, and fill it with your real self, and be your true self and play again the game of your own life, instead of your playing your ego's own usually non-altruistic games.

The ego wears the personality as a mask when it wants to control and run the lower bodies. It needs to realise it is just a part of the whole soul, and it's role is to allow all experiences to come through it to test them for different aspects of positivity and negativity and so the ego plays a balancing role to soul.

If the ego itself becomes unbalanced in its role and thinks that its role is the sole role of soul, it needs to be put back in its place and the personality mask removed from it and so the real soul can shine out again through its natural personality utilising ego to monitor its experiences once again.

Our personality is usually based on habit, until we understand it and live on purpose, and so our soul becomes part of our personality in which it is a window then into our soul.

The personality before this is one based on habits picked up from the environment that you were born into and also the people within it.

The personality, so acquired, tends to act for you and connects more to your ego than to your soul, and so it influences you to not be the real you, but more to be the accumulation of your past influences.

When you look more deeply into this, and realise what has happened, and then when you allow your soul to step back into the picture in place of your ego, your "new" realer personality will emerge out from your soul, and then you will become a new person, and so be born again.

To be the real you, you must be (or incorporate into yourself) the truly unique individually fitted/suited personality that God has bestowed on you to be.

This is what this idea of being born again essentially really means.

You will then live from your soul in your new personality, which is then a window that your soul looks through, instead of a window that your ego looks out of, but within its own walls, or jail.

The difference is huge in that your personality then becomes the true personality of you, and that you were created with as soul originally. All souls are basically created equal so to speak, but they get to choose the type of personality that they will wear, and once chosen that is the one that will be carried with them as soul for eternity.

This personality can then be enhanced and aspects brought forth from it that will characterise and flavour and be that person individually stamped and individually created by their very personality differences, and experiences, and the unique influences on them from their own wisdom gained from their own soul as it reflects the beauty of the whole creation and the beaming of a perfect personality as they all are when worn by soul.

A question, or two, about the role of our conscious and unconscious minds

Is it our conscious mind or our subconscious or both that connect to our soul and receives messages from it?

Do these two minds really need to be in agreement for us to function optimally, or can they work independently too?

Does the subconscious mind really hate change, but if so, how can it hate anything, and why would it just want to keep things the same?

Does it keep us stuck in certain beliefs, ways of behaving, and habits then, because it doesn't want us to change them?

Your soul is the most important part of you.

You use the mind in many ways, and these ways are described as being conscious or unconscious by some people, but really these ways are the same way.

You use your mind awarely or not by the amount of love that you allow your soul to pass through to you.

Which part of you is it then that blocks this love coming through to you then?

It is neither mind, it is the fear that sits in your "egoic" personality, which is acting like a transformer that affects all of your thoughts, and your ways of your behaving. You are not acting or being your true personality.

You accept this negative personal trait as one that is not being able to be changed by you. You think that it is just you, the way you are.

You think that this false personality is a given, the way you are, as I have just said above, and so then you never attempt to become more positive, or outgoing, if you are thinking that your personality is not that type, but this though is really just a fear.

Let your personality be any personality that you want it to be when it is right for you to be like this. You can wear different hats. You can play different tunes. You can adapt any personality that you like to adapt, and that is the truth.

This last idea negates nothing of what I have said above.

When you live from your own unique person, or your own unique personality, you will see that in its wardrobe too, are the clothes of every other personality too.

This is the paradox of creation. You are uniquely you, but you are everyone else at the same time too. This is oneness. The one in the many is the same as the many in the one.

"I don't talk about consciousness. I talk about interiority."

This last quote is from the American Ken Wilber, a writer, speaker, and philosopher.

In terms of my article, I think that he means here our soul. I talk about soul, here too.

Freud is very much outdated to day I have articles coming up that will discuss more about personality and how it is defined in psychology today. Our personality is shaped by our environment, and if you are a seeker of the soul or whatever, that too is part of your personality and is part of your environment as well.

I am enjoying these articles

thanks Carol.

I feel myself that our soul is the main driver of all else.

The soul to me is not a part of our personality, our personality is a part of our soul.

Our lives should be soul driven to find harmony with others that form part of creation. I attach a negative connotation to ego as I find it equates with pride that often goes before a fall. Thought provoking Spirited - siva
