Office Fitout And Partition Trends For 2015

With the year quickly growing to a close, many employers are interested in the office fitout and partition trends that are expected to take off in 2015. This is especially true if you will be moving office or renovating in the coming year, as employers have finally accepted that the appearance and functionality of the workplace has a significant impact on their employees. So, we have outlined some of the trends that we think you can expect to see next year.

Eco Workplaces

This is a trend that we will continue to see grow in 2015 and it will actually work in two ways – firstly, fitouts are becoming more eco friendly and, secondly, more environmental influences are being included. This can be seen in indoor water features, natural colour schemes and large windows (for plenty of natural light).

Minimalism

This trend has been borne from many employers trying to simplify the look of their office and appears to be working in tandem with advances in technology. In 2015, we are like to see minimal clutter, only a handful of furniture items and a minimalist design. This will provide employees with a neat and pleasant working environment.

Productivity

It seems that office fitouts and partitions are coming back into vogue, as employers are looking to achieve optimum productivity output. There are a number of solutions being introduced to help employees maintain their focus, including booths, acoustic pods and noise cancelling partitions. We are likely to see more solutions introduced.

Glass Walls

There has been an increase in the number of workplaces replacing opaque walls (which often put people to sleep) with glass walls, especially in the middle of busy areas. This will not only keep employees awake and motivated, it will ensure that the office has a modern and more open appearance that is was previously lacking

Open Spaces

We will still be eliminating cubicles in 2015 with hot desking becoming increasingly popular (desks that are for anyone to use). We also believe that there will be an increase in the number of lounge areas within offices, as they are said to enhance collaboration. If partitions are present, they will certainly be much lower than before.

Adjustable Desks

Linking in with the hot desking trend mentioned above is the idea of adjustable desks. This will allow employees to stand or sit as desired whilst ensuring that their computer is accessible. The popularity of these desks can also be linked to a greater awareness of employee health and ergonomics, which have been ignored.

Now we are eagerly awaiting the beginning of 2015, when we will see whether some of these predictions have been proven true or not. Whilst we by no means claim that the above trends will definitely come into fruition next year, we do believe that the direction office fitouts and partitions have been moving this year make it possible. Are there any trends that you believe will boom in 2015? We’d love you to share them with us in the comments!
