What Christmas Means to Me

Christmas is when our lord was born, and when I unite with my family, I always remember this.

What Christmas Means to Me

When I was a young child, I was taught that at Christmas time we celebrate the birth of our lord. At school we had a Christmas Play, a carol service, and then there was the service in our local church. I found it both magical and mystical, and I still do.

Nowadays Christmas has become very commercial, with everyone spending so much money, even to the point of getting into debt in the New Year. There are parties and dinners, and all sorts going on, Christmas bonuses for some lucky workers, to help them enjoy the Christmas season even more.

For me, it’s also a time that my family all get together to celebrate. I have children and grand children, and this is such a special time to spend together. It is not about how much money we spend on presents, or how many parties we go to, it’s about love, and remembering how much our lord loved us and still does. Even if we don’t always go to church as much as we should, we can still celebrate, and unite, and remember those who are not so fortunate, because it is the season of goodwill.

I celebrate just as you do.
The birth of Christ and then my family.
We do presents but, we never go over our budget.
My daughter will not be able to make it home for the holidays this year. :(
Now, I just have to get the hubby and my brother down in the basement to get
our decorations.
Your article put a smile on my face. One, I really needed.
Thank you for sharing.:)
