The use of sections can help improve the look of your article, add more pictures and embed YouTube, read on to find out how.

The tools are there for you to use

Wikinut gives you, the writer some fabulous writing tools, from the basic adding of pictures to the click-able Bold, italics and link buttons to the more advanced tools such as embedding YouTube videos.

But I want to talk about Sections., as a moderator I am often asked how do I put more then one picture in my articles and how you I use small and large pictures? Well to do this first you have to learn how to use sections.

The importance of Sections, all will become clear.

The use of Sections make your work a lot more presentable, easer to read, and each section can have its own picture, after you have posted your first picture (which is always a small picture placed in the corner.) you then have the option not only of posting a picture in each section but also if you want it as a small one placed in the corner,or if you want a larger one placed at the top centre of your section.

A good tip is to have a mix of small and larger pictures this makes your article a much more pleasant read, and lets face it, that’s what you want don’t you? The more people that read your piece the more hits you get, and what do more hits mean? “More money.”
To use a new section just click on the "Add new section" tab.

Pictures and or YouTube

If you decide to also add a YouTube video this can be instead of or as well as a picture, you are only allowed one picture per section but you can have a picture and a YouTube video. here in this section you can see a picture I took of Carmarthen castle as well as a youtube video.

Each time you use these valuable tools you not only improve the look of your article but your moderator is more likely to point you towards that coveted “Star” page.

So you see sections are a very powerful tool, its there for you to use, use it and lets see a lot more professional wikinut articles.

Lastly

And last but not least, a plea from your moderator please try and use as many words as you can muster, if your article is just the minimum requirement it will leave your reader wanting more and frustrated and less likely to read any more of your work.

Use the "Notes for the moderator" section to tell your moderator if you publish elsewhere and also any questions you may have, you can also send an email to the big boss.
OK its up to you, I look forward to moderating more professional articles, lets see if we can get a lot more "Star pages" and lets make Wikinut THE place to come and read good interesting well written articles.

Good work Johnny. So many people seem to aim for the minimum word count and don't make full use of the picture option.

Good information.
I do caution people about using too many videos. For the small percent of the population, myself included, videos don't always load and really slow down pages loading.
I have dial up...STILL!

That's a very good point Mark, we have to remember that many people still use dial-up to connect to the Internet. People will click off a page if the graphics take too long to load.

Jerry and Mark, I'm with you on all counts. Johnny, the "lastly" section is my favorite. I know a lot of sites prefer micro articles, but not just any subject can be sufficiently covered in 250 words. There's an art to knowing when an article is actually "complete."
There's leaving a reader wanting more, but there's also leaving the reader feeling cheated.

Star pages are granted by your moderator as a form of encouragement, and also thanks for a great page, always try and use a good title, if you can use a related picture as your main one, and read the help section about using advance formatting, star pages are not guaranteed
http://guides.wikinut.com/Advanced-formatting-with-the-Wikinut-editor./193xv2hv/

Some articles come very close to receiving a star, so look at your piece before publishing and think how you can improve it.
Good luck to all of you, and lets see some good work.

Great Tips JD... Think it is high time we churn out good law abiding writers to the world. Who express themselves in their own way rather than trying to copy other people around.
