A page about nature and wildlife you might see at the park.

At the Park

One does not have to travel far in order to encounter wildlife. One only has to step into their local park and discover for themselves what nature and wildlife are in store for them.

If you are at the park, you will most likely encounter ducks, depending on the climate you live in and the season. Many ducks that one is likely to encounter are the mallard, black duck or wood duck. They are very curious animals who enjoy water yet fly in the sky for transportation. Puddle ducks like mallards are able to take off from a sitting position while diver ducks need a large body of water to act as a "runway" in order to take off. Study these interesting animals when you have the chance.

Squirrel are very busy collecting food and can be found all over North America. They are all over North America. These animals scare quite easily and are frightened by dogs and others that try to chase them. They are often found in trees so look there first if you are keeping an eye out for them. These animals are worth being spotted.

Frogs can be found at the park where there is a body of water close by. These animals are known for their leaping ability and fly-eating antics. They are usually green but can be brown and other colors. When you see a frog at the park next time, take a note of how it leaps into the air and how far it goes. Some jump higher than others!

Trees and Scenery

Trees and the backdrop are a key to many parks. Like ducks, trees depend on the climate you live in. There could be palm trees in the South and Maple trees in the North. Trees are an opportunity to enjoy shade in the summer and to find a home to many of the wildlife that live in parks. Trees also make for some nice pictures which make nice keepsakes.

You do not need a big budget to enjoy what nature has to offer. All you need to do is make your way to your closest local park and find out for yourself what wildlife is in store for you. Not all the animals found in a park are listed on this page so you will have to find the rest for yourself when you visit yourself.
