You Have to be Hungry for Stock

My ventures as a stock photographer have opened up a new opportunity for me to sell my images. I am quite honored to be a part of StudentStock!

Keep Climbing, Grab Opportunities!

I am so honored to be posting on a brand new stock website! It is run by some amazingly awesome people here in Chico California where I live. The site is called StudentStock. The concept is stock imagery that is created by students to help them launch into the professional world. The founder has a blog where he encourages students and discusses the creative process as well as the world of selling stock imagery. One of his posts he mentioned that to be a stock contributor you have to be hungry for it. It is true; to really push yourself to excel in this field takes some hard work and so much time! Photography is a skill that has to be done through experience. Learning from classes and videos is important, but that practical factor is really where the growth comes in! I have heard many other photographers such as Kevin1877uk express this same truth. It is an addicting hobby that does change you and how you see life I completely agree. Just to get that perfect angle, how to frame a subject, how to cast or catch the light, what settings to use to create the look you are going for, it is such a complex art.

Am I hungry enough to make it? In my mind I am starving for it, I just want to do more and more. Time will tell if I can cut the sauce in the stock scene. If I can, what a dream come true! To create imagery every day that helps others see the world a little differently and to make a living out of this I would be highly fulfilled.
